Zion Kitchen Lounge & Cafe: Your Go-To Spot for Flavor and Fun in Washington, DC

We heard about this spot from Don but haven’t really seen him promoting it but he made sure we were treated right when we came. Place has potential just needs more light. I will be coming back again soon

The food was absolutely incredible! I had the Nigerian Jollof rice with meat, fish, plantain, and a chilled Fayrouz on the side—pure perfection. Every bite felt like a taste of home, and I savored every moment of it. Highly recommended! I’ll definitely be back soon, this time with my crew.

I had to come back to edit this review because their moimoi is actually the best I've had since I came to America. This is all I eat with some vegetables and fruits because I'm on a diet and this moimoi makes eating the same meal daily not seem like a chore. I complained the first time because I ordered and it came cold but keep in mind I order like 7 at a time. When i ate it, it was so good that it didnt matter that it came cold (i order in bulk and use the whole week so it really doesnt matter that it comes cold). My next order came still hot and I enjoyed it. It doesn't go stale despite leaving it in the fridge for long. Ive found my go to place for food. Changed my rating to 5 stars.

The jollof was amazing, however, meat is very difficult to eat. It’s very hard. Also, it’s a bit pricy at $27 for this plate.

They serve about the best meal, very delicious soup and tasty snacks anywhere around them. The staff are courteous , respectful and can make customers feel at home. My recent visit to them with my family was really exciting!

Food was incredible. The egusi and pounded yam was delicious, we asked the lady what she recommended, she ended up adding a little more food than we wanted but she was so sweet. Inside isn’t the fanciest place to sit and eat at but we’re definitely coming back.

I’ve been coming here for years and they never disappoint. My food is always amazing and I can tell it’s made with love. I have been craving this for weeks and I said today is the day I’m free and nothing to do, so I stopped in and was greeted with a smile, it smells amazing. They have definitely came a long way, it’s been some renovations which look nice and the new menus was super helpful. I got the #1 combo, and it comes with jollof rice, chicken I sub for goat tho and plantains, I also added cassava all over.. and I had to get two of my favorite meat pies…. I’m about to crush this food. The best part is I don’t have to share
